Installés sur un Châssis de Convertisseur de Médias Perle à haute densité , les Modules Convertisseurs de Médias Gigabit C-1000MM fibre vers fibre de Perle, disposent de nombreuses fonctionnalités et permettent d'étendre de façon transparente un lien multimode 1000Base-SX vers un autre lien 1000Base-SX multimode ou 1000Base-LX/EX/ZX/BX fibre monomode.
Les fonctionnalités avancées des systèmes Perle permettent de bénéficier d'une transparence totale du lien fibre. Ceci permet de résoudre plus efficacement les problèmes et de réduire la maintenance sur site. Fonctions du C-1000MM Fibre à Fibre: 1000Base-SX vers 1000Base-X
Auto-Negotiation (802.3ab) | Les interfaces fibre 1000Base-X assurent la négociation sur la base de la norme 802.3, alinéa 37. |
Link Pass-Through | Lorsque le commutateur Link Mode est placé en mode Smart Link Pass-Through, le lien 1000BASE-X sur l'un des ports reprend l'état de l'autre port de convertisseur de médias 1000Base-X. Cette fonctionnalité peut être utilisée que la négociation automatique soit activée ou non. |
Fiber Fault Alert | Lorsque la fonction Fiber Fault Alert est activée, l'état du récepteur 1000Base-X est passé au transmetteur 1000Base-X. Ceci permet de signaler les erreurs au périphérique partenaire connecté à l'interface 1000Base-X du convertisseur de médias. Si le transmetteur 1000Base-X s'arrête suite à une erreur, il est redémarré régulièrement pour permettre la résolution de l'erreur, à condition que le périphérique partenaire raccordé à l'interface 1000Base-X utilise une technique similaire. Cette fonction éradique donc les blocages qui se produisent sur certains convertisseurs de média. Applicable uniquement lorsque la fonction FAN (Fiber Auto-Negotiation) est désactivée. |
Régénération des signaux | La régénération des signaux préserve l'intégrité du signal et autorise un maximum de connexions fibre vers fibre sans dégradation du signal. |
En cascade | Les convertisseurs de médias peuvent être montés en cascade. Deux ou plusieurs convertisseurs peuvent être montés en chaîne sur un même lien pour en accroître la portée. |
Pause (IEEE 802.3x) | Le signal de pause est une fonction IEEE qui interrompt momentanément la transmission des données entre deux périphériques dès que l'un d'eux est surchargé. Le convertisseur de médias est transparent pour les trames de pause. |
VLAN | Le convertisseur de médias est transparent pour les paquets VLAN 802.1Q taggés. |
Duplex | Opérations en semi-duplex et duplex intégral prises en charge. |
Paquets géants | Transparence pour les paquets de plus de 1 500 octets jusqu'à 10 Ko. |
Remote Loopback | Le convertisseur de médias peut procéder à un bouclage sur chaque interface fibre 1000Base-X. |
Indicators | |
---|---|
Power / TST | This green LED is turned on when power is applied to the media converter. Otherwise it is off. The LED will blink slowly when in Loopback test mode. |
Fiber link 1 / Receive activity (LK1) | This green LED is operational only when power is applied. The LED is on when the 100Base-X link is on and flashes with a 50% duty cycle when data is received. |
Fiber link 2 on / Receive activity (LK2) | This green LED is operational only when power is applied. The LED is on when the 100Base-X link is on and flashes with a 50% duty cycle when data is received. |
Switches: On-Board | |
Auto-Negotiation | Auto (default up) - Fiber Negotiation is performed for both fiber ports. Full and half duplex will be advertised. Pause will advertise support for Symmetrical and Asymmetrical Pause. Pause frame will not be acted upon or generated but will be passed through.
Off - Negotiation on both fiber ports will be disabled. Settings of Link mode and Fiber fault alert will be determined by those switch settings. Pause frames will not be acted upon or generated but will continue to be passed through. |
Link Mode | Smart Link Pass-Through: - (default up) - In this mode, the link state on one connection is directly reflected through the media converter to the other connection. If link is lost on one of the connections, then the other link will be brought down by the media converter.
Standard: - In this mode the links on both fiber ports can be brought up and down independently of each other. A loss of link on either link can take place without affecting the other connection. |
Fiber Fault Alert | Enabled - (default up) - If the media converter detects a loss of fiber signal on a fiber receiver, it will immediately disable its fiber transmitter signal. This, in effect, notifies the remote fiber link partner that an error condition exists on the fiber connection. The setting of this switch applies to both fiber ports. Disabled: The media converter will not monitor for fiber fault or generate them. |
Remote Loopback #1 | The media converter can perform a loopback on the link #1 fiber interface.
Disabled (Default - Up) Enabled - The 1000Base-X receiver is looped to the 1000Base-X transmitter. Link #2's fiber transmitter is taken off the interface |
Remote Loopback #2 | The media converter can perform a loopback on the link #2 fiber interface.
